Well yes, but they have this focus week with overtime (and interaction goals ?) with all the implied bureaucratic B.S. I have yet to see comparative data published from one of these enforcement week. Average Citations and warnings per officer compared to a non focus week? Or any other significant facts other than they scolded a bunch of folks for the week.

Only good thing about this one (in my eyes) is they are supposed to focus on four wheelers also.

White i don't think I've ever seen data comparing blitz week to normal weeks i have seen many published data results of blitz week. And the data is freaking scary.

Ridiculously high % of oos violations for brakes and tires. Last year it was something like 20% or 30% of all trucks inspected were out oos for brakes. There is a lot of junk running down the roads.

Not that far, but I will be next week.

There are two brothers, one lives there, the other in Phoenix that both have identical trucks as mine, that run the west coast as well lol.

Once all three of us were lined up at 3 doors at the same shipper lol.

    That, it is.

The actual number of inspections during a blitz is only double that of any other similar period (they have only so many officers), but they target a specific area for those inspections. The intent is to raise awareness of these problems, and the are effective at doing that.

I agree the numbers are scary.

I guess my frustration is how do we get the majority that are failing to actually fix and maintain the trucks (and drivers) so that the blitzes become unjustifiable?

Can't really expect an answer to that but figured I'd throw it out there.

Honesty, as long as its so easy to get into the industry it will never change. Anyone joe blow with 10k can start up a trucking company today.
Its actually harder to start a darn lawn mowing service.

For the same reason truckdrivers need 8 inch stacks.
