Take the 335 Loop east around town, miss all the lights and come back out on 40E at the Pilot and Petro exit on 40. Then you are just a couple of miles to the 287S exit.

Guys..the reason they blow the horn at Stratford is because the Pilot is at a crossing..US 54 crosses there...how could you not figure that out?

There are numerous road crossings around the TA in Gallup...that's why the horns blow...2 longs a short and a long. They don't blow the horn for the"hell of it"...they aint truckers.

That right? I just can't recall those crossings. Especially when the bastages are headed north.

I don't stop there much though now cause of that. I'll have to look around if I go down that road.

There is a neighborhood directly behind the TA to the east. There are a couple of roads that lead back in there that cross the tracks

Here I thought someone was blowing the horn because truck drivers are leaving pee bottles on the track.

Yes they do it for the hell of it all the time. I can be out in the middle of nowhere and soon as a train gets near me he goes and blasts that horn trying to scare me.

He is right about Stratford. I know they have to do it for the traffic. The Pilot is on the corner with one track going east & west and one going north & south. I know late one night on I-40 in NM I looked out the passanger window because I saw a strange light. That was when someone blasted the horn. Scared the Sh out of me.

Yep. Don’t go thru all them lights if ya don’t have to. But if ya do have to, time the first one and then maintain 30 or so and you’ll roll right thru.
