I heard that 4 major flatbed companies are going out of business. The only company name I heard out of the 4 was TMC. Was curious if anyone else knew anything. I have personally contacted some former as well as current drivers there and things seem very shady. I have heard of terminal closings and freight accounts being lost!

TMC is not going out of business.

The training location in SC closed, but the full service terminal is still open. TMC has had that training location closure in the works for a while, since they purchased a large former schneider terminal outside Des Moines.

The terminal in Florida is now covered by the new terminal in Gaston SC and I haven't heard of any accounts lost.

No bankruptcy filings from TMC that I'm aware of. I know a lot of guys are getting fired. DH was in Joplin today. Thankfully, he was safe. If you read some of Rawlco's post, he addresses this subject.

Im not employed by TMC, but it appears that if you actually LOOK at the details, that the drivers they are cutting are poor performing, had issues, or broke equipment too often and so forth, AND/OR they are outside of the new hiring area's TMC has set up, primarily Michigan and Florida seem to be the biggest losers in this one----

Can you give some links on where to find this information? I've looked and am not finding anything. I'm not saying it's not true, but I'm not finding anything to back up what you're posting to be fact. Some links would be helpful.

TMC did not file bankruptcy, those court filings are public record, and none exist for TMC.

TMC built a new large fabulous terminal in Gaston SC to consolidate operations in the southeast. This has been planned for years.

TMC has not lost any of the John Deere accounts. I have friends in that division and they are fine.

Alcoa is having a tough time themselves. They have laid off many workers and idled some plants. Now of course we can't get freight from alcoa when they aren't producing anything, but I guess that does not count as a "lost" account.

    Yes I work for TMC.
