My experience with Swift.

Sure would be an easy job, though. Get paid per post found, would make a killing. Hahaha

 

I would have to say so. The self proclaimed "Largest fleet", yet they never have any freight to move. Now I can understand there not being anything on a weekend, when I'm in the middle of Wyoming (That was a boring 4 days). But I've been stuck in major cities before. It got old quick, since I just know they're giving all the loads to the more senior drivers.

 

Hehe, I never intended to clain this as a horror story. I'm just sharing what it was like for me. My gripe about the truck was they took me from a truck that I did like, made me wait 5 days because of their own lack of planning, and shoved me into a truck I didn't like. It was a shiny new Kenworth yes, but it was less of a truck than both that I had before it in a lot of ways. I was so excited to get it at first, but that wore off very quick once I realized I was taken out of a decent mid-range truck, and put into the cheapest base model they could get. Only thing I liked about it when I was done, was it was metalic blue, lol. I always wanted to get put into a T680, and I tried so hard to love that truck when I finally got one. But I just couldn't. I wanted my International back so badly.

I didn't care so much about the points I had when I left, infact I was surpised at my score. It was the constant harassment I was getting through that camera. The company I'm going to doesn't even have Drivecams. I was to the point where every time I hit a bump, or hit the brakes just slightly too hard, I looked at the camera in, well essentially TERROR, to see if it set off. Because I knew that if it did, I was going to get called into a Terminal for a nagging session over something that in no way, could have ever harmed anyone. And I'm not exagerating this at all. They ####ing made me drop a load at a truck stop once, just so they could route me into the nearest #### terminal and yell at me. What for? I locked the brakes up the day before when I was bobtail, because I'm not used to that configuration. There wasn't even anyone infront of me, I just tapped the brakes too hard and slid a few inches, and they treated it like I ran into someone. I got into this career to get away from overbearing bosses. Not to be remotly harassed via a #### camera.

And actually yeah, they marked my curb incident as a "preventable unnessesary rough driving" or something like that. If they gave me 3 points, I wouldn't have cared. 4 points, okay. But they treated it worse than when I rolled through a stop sign 4 months ago, and gave me 6 points, accused me of nearly hitting several cars (Which was complete bull), then refused to let me appeal it until after I said I was going to leave the company over it. And when I got the call about it, I got a 5 minute lecture on how I need to be more careful with my routing, and that I need to get an atlas. I just waited for her to finish and said "I do have an atlas, and E Street is in it. Do I need to review every inch of my route on satellite maps?"
And I even had a few other truckers watch the video footage, and they all agreed that I did everything the best I could have given the situation. Only thing I could have done different was swing wide before the turn, but I've been beat in the head repeatedly by trainers telling me NOT to do that. Especially in a busy intersection like that was.
