That's how I see it. And sure, there's a lot of dry van freight that "could" go in a reefer but hard headed customers specify what they specify. The automotive expedite I haul in my van, sometimes that stuff is lightweight low volume, maybe even just 1 pallet. They won't load a reefer. Ever. Fact is the absolute best paying freight I haul in a van they will not load it into a reefer. I can go back now through a stack of confirms. There could be valid reasons for that or not but it is what it is. The only exception where I see a dry load that will sometimes pay very well in a reefer and van is bottled water or colas, energy drinks or something similar when the demand is there. Most times though that either or V/R is dirt cheap freight because the options for trucks covering the loads are so much more.
