Hey I'm starting orientation July 9th and was wondering what's the typical day like? I was offered their local position doing 12-14hrs a day with hourly and mileage pay. I'm not new to tanker work I was did chemical before then I went to petroleum and now I'm back at quality.

If you are out of Baltimore is go to the yard move 20 trailers to get yours, check if anyone stole your hoses,go load most likely a load and go, go back to the yard pray to God for a easy empty slot no slots available? give the yard jockey a 5 dollar bill and he will take care of it, then pre load for next day or for a o/o. And repeat again.

    ChicagoJohn Thanks this.

Yup from out of Baltimore. I use to work thee
It was like this years ago but I didn't have to pull trailers out just to get mines, It was always a tight situation with that yard but #### it got way worse. Thanks man are you still there?

I work with the Schofield terminals (Bridgeport, Baltimore and rahway) so I know all of them. I'm just doing my thing the moment they try to give me issue I'm jumping to slay or mc tank

Hey do you still have to be clean shaven to work for quality?

When I hired on last year, yes. In orientation they made an experienced tanker new-hire come in clean shaven on Day 2or don't come in at all. They, or the guy running orientation, didn't consider stubble to be clean shaven. Most customers are more forgiving. I haven't used my mask once, yet.

At my company you need to be able to pass a mask fitting. I have a more then stubble, but not a full beard and I was able to pass. Unless you're hauling acids or poisons, you'll never wear a mask.

    RJ33RD Thanks this.

Yeah I was at quality before and they hauled mostly acid back then so I'm not sure about now. Thanks again
