I think I'm in the right spot looking for frist hand experience with the 2010 maxforce engines being here in .CA our truck options are getting limited found a few maxxforces in our price range that are still in compliance so my questions are what's the major problems with these trucks, what's a good fix , life expectancy, what extra maintenance should I stay on top off

Are they really as bad as people make them seem can they be bullet proofed like Ford 6.0s

Several different Maxforces out there, which one? One is a 6.0 and the next is maybe a 466. You can not do anything but maintain them in CA. That is what we are doing with ours here in Ga. Sent one to the dealer, spent $8,000 dollars and never had the head off. It runs fair and electrical issues are common. There is not a 2010 here so I probably should not answer. Maybe they have improved.
Those kind of repairs do not care about your price range.

I've had a rental or two that might have been 2010, definitely had a couple from the bad years of the maxxforce. Just renting it was non-stop PITA. two parked regens a day and such. I'm glad it wasn't my truck, but my personal experience is that they're as bad as the internet says they are.
