I walked away without giving notice. I had no desire to argue or receive any words of about why or whatever. Nothing comes from it anyway, especially with fake people. So just smile and be optamistic about your future. That's all you need bro

Trucking isn't like an office job. Yeah in an office job or something like that or retail sure you want to give them time to train your replacement but if you think of trucking company isn't already training your replacement everyday I think you're deluded.
When I left a mega I sent an email explaining why I was leaving. I said I my resignation would be effective as soon as was practical and I worked out with them how to get the truck back to the terminal that they wanted me to get it to.
It took almost 2 weeks anyway but they were happy because I worked with them on it.
I personally was ready to go the next day but it took almost 2 weeks because of routing to get the truck to the terminal.
I mean this is not a nine-to-five office job where it takes two weeks to find somebody and get them in there they've already got 300 replacements in training.Lepton1, bottomdumpin, IluvCATS and 1 other person Thank this. -

When I left Swift, I sent a two-week notice to my driver manager from my personal email, with a copy to the fleet manager. I made it effective when my next home time was starting. I asked for the courtesy of being routed through Tucson where my home is so that I could offload my personal gear. After working one week into the notice, I got a load to Phoenix, but they couldn't or wouldn't get me routed through Tucson from Phoenix. They tried giving me three different 500 mile loads that didn't deliver for several days, and they all went to California. I rejected all of those loads, telling them that I just needed a load going through Tucson. Then they sent me two other loads, one going to Albuquerque and one going to Denver. I finally just told them that I was done and would turn my truck in to Phoenix, where I already was. My wife rides with me, so we went and got a rental car, emptied the truck out into the rental, and then cleaned the truck thoroughly. We did that in a vacant parking lot. Then, I took the truck to the Phoenix terminal, dropped it off where they told me, and that was that. My driver manager, was a real stand-up guy, so I really wanted to finish out my notice period, but they didn't make it easy. This all happened early on a Friday before my driver manager got to work. My driver manager would always bend over backwards to make things work, but during the 128 hours each week that wasn't there, anything was likely to happen. So, I left a week early, took the weekend off, and started orientation with my new company.

#### all that. Having the truck already at the terminal when u tell them sounds better. They get the truck back safe and on time. You get what u want.
