I checked out their website and between that and the comments on here they seem to be a pretty good company. The website doesn't list a pay scale though so I was wondering what the mileage pay is and what all is included as far as benefits are concerned. I noticed that the wind energy division pays salary and not mileage. I imagine that's due to you not driving many miles over the course of a day due to being oversized and what not. Any ball park figures on the salary range?

What kind of hometime could I expect living in the southeast corner of Missouri?
How many miles can I expect to avg over the course of a week?
And one last question, I think lol What do they pay o/o as far as mileage/percentage pay is concerned?

I'm happy where I work now since they keep me busy, especially during this awesome economy we're having, but I'm starting to get a little burned out on the whole grocery warehouse thing week in and week out.
Just like to keep my options open and the o/o question is just for me to have something to think about. Got a few ideas bouncing around in my head with all that empty space I've got up there and it's something I'm considering doing once the economy is on the upswing.

Anybody have any info on TWT? They are owned by the same company but i have'nt heard much about them. A lady from System came to my school, but she worked for System & didn't know anything about TWT, or at least did'nt want to talk about them. It sounds like System is a very good company, but i'm not really interested in flatbeds. Any info on TWT would help, thanks.

Not having driven for the green side (TWT), I really can't tell you much beyond the fact that Trans-System as a whole is a good company. Jim built a good place for drivers and they do a fair job keeping it that way. I would go back to driving for them, if I were to go back OTR and my first choice wasn't available. I haven't worked for them for quite a while, but I doubt much has changed.

    BigR Thanks this.

Biscuit, I honestly couldn't tell you what the pay scale is these days, as I haven't been with them for a while.

As far as home time, Jackson's off 55, right? It shouldn't e too bad. They used to have an office in Waynesboro, MS and they have a yard in Gary, IN. You're also near St. Louis, so I wouldn't think it'd be a big problem.

BigR, To get on with TWT at this time, from what I was told, you will need to drive for the System side for about 6 months and then move over. They don't take students straight out of school. I, like yourself, didn't consider driving flatbed at first. But if you think about it flatbed has some nice benefits. No grocery warehouse and no deliveries in the middle on the night. Yes you will have to load secure and tarp but that might take you an hour to complete. How many posts have you read on here where guys are waiting hours to get loaded or unloaded. Flatbed is mostly all no touch. Give it some thought. I will be posting more about my experience on here and if you have any questions let me know.

What school are you going to?

Thanks for your post bMac, i'm attending Western Pacific Truck School in Modesto. I recived a prehire from System, that's why i was wondering about TWT. I haven'nt completly decided aganist flatbed, just leaning more toward reefer right now, i've also recived a prehire from KLLM. I appricate your advice and will try to keep an open mind ( about flatbedding ), the idea of securing loads/ tarping in freezing rain, snow & below zero weather just does'nt sond too appealing. Reefers will involve more waiting to unload, but i figure people will always need food, plus reefers can haul anything a van can, so there's a better chance to keep rolling. That's just my thoughts anyway, Thanks for the info, drive safe!

I just started with System and so far I like it even though I dont want to do flat bed I am an expeiranced flat bed driver and they are paying me 35.5 CPM they set you up with almost everything you need as far as equipment. I have been fairly bussy for this economy but it should get real bussy soon.
System Transport, TWT, And JJ williams are all the same owner I wanted to go with TWT but at the time they were not hireing new drivers at the time so they asked me if I wanted to do FB and I took it. also as far as trainees there were 4 in orentation with me and 2 were on the TWT side. I looked over their benny package and it seemed ok but a little pricy for dependants.
    Hope that helps
