    My husband has OTR experience and wants me to go drive with him. Im cool with it my question is.. I have a CDL for 18+ years just not a class "A". Ive got everything but the "A" needed to drive a truck. Are their any companies out there that would let my husband train me once I get the "A"? Or even better yet a company that would help me get the "A"? He really want to go back out on the road but he wants me to go too.

    I know Danny Herman will let him train you and pay for most of the schooling. The problem is that he would have to work here 6 months before training you. Not sure how shor term your plans are, that may not be feasible.

    Where is your location?
    Get your Class-A and Quest Global will probably hire you and your husband and let him train you. Quest Global runs coast to coast; lots of long runs.

    We live in Kansas so all schools are a drive for me. This is why Im looking for a company that would hire us, train me, let him do a couple solo trips while im trained. Then he could pick me up and finish the rest of the training.

    I trained my wife also....but for a 'smallish' asphalt company here in Ohio....and she tested out in my Pete. She DID get her 160 at a local community college, however.

    Whichever company you choose, he should start there at least as soon as you begin their cdl school.
    CFI www.cfidrive.com is probably a good choice to get started.
    Company-paid Tuition
    With a 12-month commitment to drive for CFI, qualified students can now receive fully paid tuition to attend driving school in Missouri. We’ll even cover your room and board for the duration of the four-week course.

    Call the company and tell them what you and your husband want to do.

    Yeah MOST companies require that their trainer have worked for the company as a driver for some time before they train new drivers. My dad, my brother, and me found this out when we worked for the same company.

    My advice is find a great place to work and deal with the training they require for you to team with your husband. You don't want to miss out on a great job just because you would have a few weeks of inconvenience.

    So which companies are good for team drivers right now if we dont worry about the training part. We would like no touch, just drop and hook, long hauls and no northeast.

    Danny Herman Trucking
    Titan Transfer
    Quest Global
    Butler Transport
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Seaboard Transport in Shawnee Mission, KS might have teams. They do hire new cdl grads. Maybe they have a rider program for the wife; call and ask.
