You know eckz I admire your state of mind after this whole mess. I would be ticked off and rightly so, and I am not sure that I would be as calm as you are. You have earned my great respect sir.

The main reason i have been here all this time defending the company is because my father was a driver for my entire life, and his father before him, and his father before him, and so fourth.

The vast majority of this world (sadly) believes that life should be handed to them on a silver platter, and i've never been one of those people. Thanks to my old man (Who was never around when i needed him, i'll add)

My boss nearly started to cry after all this went down. He told me how i was better off, he explained to me that he had a 22 year old son that was into drugs and drinking, and hanging out with the wrong crowd and he couldn't even talk to the kid because he had been away for most of his life trying to do (What he thought) was the right thing at the time. Support his family, by driving a truck.

I am ticked off, don't get me wrong. I wasted alot of my time and effort being one of those people that really did care about my company, and i took great pride in everything that i did. Their loss, i guess. I'll get back with you in about a week when i get my DAC and, depending on what's on their will determine the fate of this whole situation.

Deflamation of character is very serious in a court of law, and i am related to one of the best laybor lawyers in the state. So we'll see what happens. And, theres no way in hell i'll ever pay 150.00 to have something removed, according to the fair credit reporting act (All the ones that i've read) it is the responsibility of the reporter (which would be DAC Services) to investigate if something isn't correct, and remove it if nescessary otherwise it's a lie, which constitutes as deflamation of character.

I'll look more into this. But i've been thinking alot about this whole DAC garbage, and if you put something that comes up in my name that isn't accurate, you should be responsible for fixing it, not me. It's not my problem people can't give the correct information. I have enough to worry about, and, thinking about all this is yet another reason i'm just a little less upset about being out of this industry, it's a friggin joke.

My dad has been driving a truck for 30+ years. He always told to do something else with

my life. He would say trucking is a trap. I never understood what he meant. Now that

I have been driving for 14 years I understand completely. I am not qualified to do

anything else that would pay what I'm used to. To become qualified to do

something else would require training that I don't have time or the money for.

I really do love what I do so in that regard I'm lucky. The crap that goes along

with the industry is what I dislike. The government handed DAC (USIS) on a

silver platter to the one of the most corrupt and abusive industries in the

    country.

I disagree with the cheap labor part.

I was averaging around 50CPM all summer. I didn't bring home less than 1100.00 all summer long it went to hell in a hand basket during the winter, though, but they're just trying to keep the trucks rolling.

As I have posted elsewhere the closure of the terminal in Florida has been in the works for a while. TMC opened a new terminal in Gaston SC during 2008 to consolidate all the southeast operations.

hello all I just got off the phone with a TMC recruiter and he told me that they are not hiring west of I 35 and they may relook at their hiring map when frieght picks up in the spring. They keep your application "active" for 90 days then I assume it goes into the archives.

I will say this about the guy he returned my call within a couple hours and was very informative so it was a good first impression of TMC for me.

I drove by the Maverick yard today on my way from KS to AL and there were a TON of Maverick trucks parked. If I had to guess I would say probably close to 100 tractors sitting in their yard.
