Here we go again, disrupting traffic in small town ohio. 13ft6in wide 15ft 1in tall 20180710_110011.jpg

First time ive had to consider employing this tactic. Goes across the top and across 2 flanges on the back. Im told i'll definitely need this today. 20180710_110047.jpg

One of those loads that should be simple but turns into a royal pita. Forks on the lift truck were too short to place it in the middle of the trailer. Trying to lift it with the forks partially under the skid had them teetering and everyone running for cover. Finally gave up trying to do it neatly and just zigzagged it down the trailer loading each coil from the opposite side. Like l said pita;( 20180710_114430_HDR.jpg

Put the loaded pallet on the trailer
put an empty pallet on the forklift
line them up, push the other pallet with the empty pallet

    booom

Seriously, some of these places, if I have to do the forklifting too, i want more money. (most of them to be fair are insanely competent, unlike oh say big food warehouses)

So for the noobs............what is that ? And did you feel the extra money was worth the extra trouble , slower driving and hellish turns. I also fear the strap on top could easily slide to one side..., thanks.

that wire slider strap will not work very good with that lifting tab sticking out past it. I would suggest a block of wood set on top of the tabs and held on by the strap next time.

Ya tried that. The main issue was my trailer has small ribs that run lengthways on the floor and the skids had small risers nailed to the 4x4's with dwad square ends. The would catch the small lip and stop dead. Push on them and the wood would start to break up. A you can see by the height of the coils l wasn't about to break up the skid and have a coil tip after it was chained down. Been there done that and try not to do it again

Not exactly flatbed... But open deck none the less... Not my loads, but some very big ones that I saw today on US30 in Idaho.

Works just fine as im not trying to split for the lifting lug, I'm guarding against hang ups on the flanges on the top of the tank that could catch against a low hanging wire

    cke and kylefitzy Thank this.
