Run down the ramp out side Stonewall Louisiana. I see some good eats in me future. My sister in law don't speak real good English. She is Cajun through and through that's all right by me. Long as she throws a plate my way

I have been involved in manufacturing for nearly 40 years. I have a machine shop, design products, spec materials, develop manufacturing processes, etc.
Making stuff for critical applications you don't just call out "metal" alloys, heat treat and or stress relief, surface finishes, they are all just in a days work.

I may not be able to back a set of doubles or tarp like a pro flat bedder but, I see the mechanical world in a whole different light than many. Material science is the building blocks of the mechanical world, if you don't know the basics how can make stuff do what you want. Metallurgy is a foundation subject in machine work, welding, stamping and, forming. Some folk just learn what the must to perform a task, other quest for the history and background of the arts and science they work in. I fall into the second category, I am a gear heads gear head.

Just to clarify then, you are saying that all cold rolled sheets are always cold worked, at only a few hundred degrees? I'm only talking sheet, not bars, rounds or other shapes.

I've never backed up doubles either... or tarped a load.

The plant I cater to mostly is the grandfather of exotic metals. Most all Special Metals in the world came to be in this old plant. Built somewhere in the late 20's if memory is correct, maybe first part of the 30's. It was there when the flood came in 1937, then the flood wall was built. Sure made for tight turns over the years..... trailers got longer but the curves and turns stayed the same lol.

A good freind works in the smelter area. Technology has came a long way!!

    My manager is...just...*sigh*.

Im not even gonna bother posting the crap.

Been sitting in Austin at my pick up since 8:25 for my 8:30 appointment. Shipper tells me "we werent expecting anyone till 10, but there's 2 trucks in front of you already".

No ac, the Int. no idle ac system doesnt work either, as well as the driver window wont rolldown. Gonna be a comfortable 100 degree in Midland today when I get there.
