I have managed to break two headsets. The first one was fairly expensive. Around one hundred dollars from Amazon. The second one was significantly cheaper. About thirty dollars from Amazon. I have enough Pilot points to pay for half of a new headset. The rest I will pay in cash. I saw one in Pilot today that wraps around the back of the neck and the ear plugs pull out more like I pod headphones. I was thinking of getting this one. Does anyone use this type and if you do how do you like it? I'm thinking this might be a better option because I keep breaking the more conventional type.
Broke my second headset!

What brand was the ones you broke ? I broke 2 Blue parrots B350 and they replaced them both

It costs nothing to be careful. How strong do you think those tiny little wires between the earbuds and the rest of the unit are? Stronger than the hard plastic of metal of the headsets you already broke?
BTW you can buy many of the electronics that are at truck stops for half the price from Amazon.Trucking in Tennessee, BillStep and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
If you want to go high end I can recommend the Bose Soundsport Free earbuds. They can work one ear, have good pass through when no sound, 5 hours of listening, pocketable charger, and the mic works just as well as a boom mic. I was really surprised with them. $200 though.

I know it. I don't know how I keep breaking these things. Frustrating.

The first one was a Blue Parrot. But it is almost two years old. So it might be out of warranty. The second one was a cheap Chinese "knock off." I'm not sure which manufacturer made the one at Pilot.

Mine has so much gorilla tape holding it together it's getting heavy on the shoulders.

Kinda hard to break this one.
BillStep Thanks this. -
I use one of those neck ones like you are talking about... Mine is an LG... I've had 2 in the past 4 years... The first one had ear buds that the cords pulled out and retracted (lasted me 3 years), the second one the cords doesn't retract but stays out all the time. I have liked both of the but prefers the ones that the cords retract. And despite what you may think they are pretty tough little units... The first one I only used the left ear bud until it got jerked really hard several times and quit working, so then I used the right ear bud until it died. And I'm doing the same with the second set.
BillStep Thanks this.
