You should see some of the doctors that got a eyeful of the accumulated damage on my body. They usually asked what in the hell did you do there? Trucking. Most of it was from coils. Nutrition by a thousand cuts.

Im one of those people I think the old saying applies, It's tough to be hurting when you are dumb enough to keep taking the hits.

A old mare put a horse shoe vs my upper leg once when I made a mistake and got too close. I laid in that field 5 hours wiping tears from that pain and wondering how am I gotta reach that barn 10 acres over. While that stupid mare munched the food next to me with ears flat back.

I took medical leave. Came up allergic to something in the truck. Waited till the rash covered me from head to toe and I couldn't breath anymore and went home. Doctors charged me hundreds and told me I was healthy as a flying horse.

Then, I wanted to go back to work and I had to drive around to all of the doctors and get all my medical records and letters saying I was healthy enough to work. I had to fax all of that to Schneider's medical/compliance department before they would give the ok to my DBL so he would let me come back to work. In all I was out of work 2 weeks longer than I needed to be because I didn't know about all this before hand. Plan ahead because unless you're really in good with your DBL and his/her bosses, they'll forget who you are and it'll take even longer.

Just make sure you tell them what's going on. They'll pay out your vacation pay and put you in touch with the short-term disability people to get you some cash. They'll also let you keep paying your insurance payments so you don't lose it. My DBL kept me on the payroll long enough for my Schneider insurance to save me a couple thousand dollars. But after that you'll have to send them a check in the mail (mail only, no internet or phone payments) to keep your insurance. You'll get a letter about it so make sure your address is updated.

You would need to be already signed up for short term disability to get it.

Well, I've only been with Schneider since the beginning of April. And I don't have their health insurance since I already had health insurance, which is paid for the whole year so I didn't want to drop it. I'm going to call my dbl on Monday to let him know surgery is required....I already informed him it was a possibility when I told him about the doc appointment so that it wouldn't be a surprise. Me and him are on pretty good terms, so hopefully he can help me out or take the time to lead me in the right direction.
