All the trucks that we have without drivers should be a sign that things are NOT good here. Guys a turning in trucks every day now, most think that by the end of the year that half the company drivers will be gone. They are putting HUGE classes of students into training to try and keep trucks moving.

I think its AMAZING that most OTR/ common carrier companies still havent figured out that you get what you pay for with employees..

espically when its a TRANSPORTATION company.. knock knock hellloooo!!!:biggrin_2555: the drivers should be some of the highest paid!

If you want very low turnover excellent pay= happy drivers= happy customers= happy brokers= happy staff= happy owners:yes2557:

ORR if you want what most companies currently have, Low pay= drivers with unsafe habbits and records, detached penny pinching obsessed management/ owners

Basicly if you want quality drivers for a trucking company you have to pay what they are worth,

like i'm not saying anything people dont already know.:biggrin_25526:

Yes we do del to Walmarts all over the place.
No we cannot drop a trailer at Walmarts dc. Unless it's Proctor and Gamble load out of West Branch,Ia. Reason being, P/G load have everything under the sun, to sit at a walmart dc, waiting to unload would take a very long time.
So management worked it out we could do drop and hooks there.

As for a place to drop your trailer, get with dispatch and see where they want you to drop your mty. Many other of our customers let us drop mtys.
IE: Gen Mills/ Pillusbury, one of our major customers. You can drop there. Most Budwieser Brewerys, Coors in Golden.

I am going to be going through a cdl traing class at a local college near where I live. Possibly looking at applying with Marten. Hows the pay for new hires? Is it per diem? How are the benifits? How is the home time? Hows the orentation and training program?

Any feed back would be great
