Need advice about best starter companies

Good advice hyper!!! I like it!!!

 

BTC Builders Transportation was a good starter flatbed company. They no longer accept students due to the slowdown in freight. In fact, my ex trainer was telling me a funny story about the last set of students and how they laid them off mid-training. They had a good mix of just about everything: good miles, home just about every weekend, they left you alone in your truck, let you customize your truck (inside) how you wanted it (inverter, fridge, etc). Family-oriented for the most part. Good reputation on the road.

Oh, and I understand they got rid of the weekly bonus, too. I guess it is time to do my take 2 of btc, isn't it? I'll explain the ins and outs of them.

I would avoid TMC if possible, and PGT not sure if they are still training students. If they are, be careful what the recruiter tells you. What they tell you and what actually takes place is 2 separate things.

 

You couldn't be more right!!!! The comment about Swift drivers never on the radio..... I'm sure you can understand; They get verbally abused all day, 8 days a week. They tend to be apprehensive about who is a good guy and who is talking all the TRASH about them on the radio. I remember how it was and that motivated me to 1.get better 2. DRIVE for another company.
You know whats funny.......When I was with Swift no one ever asked me for help. Now I'm in another truck I am constantly asked for help, directions, even to dock a guys truck. I love this stuff!!!!
