    @snowman_w900

    Nightmare plastic truck that everyone complains about not being able to ground. Has a Wilson heavy duty bird perch through the door mirror mount, radio wired to truck dedicated cb wiring overhead and not ground to battery. Extra helper wired about 16 feet going through firewall, and down to the battery, hot side fused within a few inches of the post. Ground side wired to the post that has the frame ground. 10 watt slug showing 3.3 watts reflect at full modulation (well within recommended percentage).

    Everything that is done is less than ideal and still works fine. If this truck gets that good of results, your big ole K Dubya will be just fine.

    In layman's terms, I can get a 2017 Cascadia which some people struggle to get to talk across the median, to give great numbers when running power with a cb radio. Most people resign to barely talking half a mile, that don't cut it with an old school redneck. First person I talked to was 600 miles away, now that's blowing smoke. In other words I am still a company hand in plastic junk right now. But its the cleanest plastic junk in the fleet, got it last week and took it to west memphis blue beacon. Then it was time to polish the wheels and tanks, and finally clean the floors. Now with the cb and whatnot lined out, I am satisfied with it.

    I don’t even know where the antenna is on my Cascadia...

    Been told it’s “built in” to the mirror housings. Range seems to suck, maybe 2-3 miles tops. I haven’t fiddled with it much though.

    Its probably the trap system that is run in the roof like an old school windshield antenna that has the orange lines in it. Its a terrible design. I run my own separate mount, coax, antenna and set it up to my standards. Its pretty easy if you just run a stock radio, very straightforward. All my wiring is hidden for a clean install.
