did everyone have a good 4th?
I kept it simple, only bought a few fireworks for the kiddo and we went to an event at the Oregon Gardens who put on a firework display the night before. It sure was nice weather, I was always used to being over 100 in California but was beautiful 70s here.
Side note I ended up being offered a position with T-mobile call center in Salem, it was the job I was really hoping for after an interview but didnt get my hopes up since they told me my chances were slim being no experience in the field but I blew them away in all the mock stuff plus the mobile video interview and then person to person interview. They were largely impressed of my technology knowledge never being part of it. I guess it pays off being a nerd at times lol. Base salary plus bonuses and commissions, free yearly stock and outstanding benefits. I will make more than I ever did with Swift even running my butt off doing Target dedicated plus only 8 hours a day. Also full medical for myself and the kiddos for only $44 and 75% off my entire phone service. This is the first job in awhile im happy to go work for and I finally begin training on the 16th, no more trucks for me.
I will keep my CDL of course, I worked hard for it and its a good fall back if ever needed down the line, plus who knows maybe someday I will win that lotto and buy my class A motorhome hah.Moosetek13, JOHNQPUBLIC and scottied67 Thank this. -
Good night from Oregon. Called JCT and they confirm they have driver facing camera for new drivers. Screw that. Got a load going to hot Southern California today. Not super excited about the delivery date on Friday the 13th. Plan to change work. Any suggestions for a leasing company?

Otay Mesa, CA, waiting for the broker to open in about an hour.
We've been running hard as a team for the last three weeks. As soon as we drop this trailer, we scoot back up toward LA-LA land to grab a load that gets T-called in Lancaster, so we can get some home time.
Then, a month running for Walmart oro of Temple, TX. -
So we are once again fueling at Pilot and Flying J?
In the past week most of my fuel stops have been at one or the other, with only a couple Love's, Petro or TA. -

I'm a few miles from the Lathrop terminal at a J.
I've seen several Swift trucks fueling here.
I got here at around 1300 and head to the terminal early in the morning.
Swift is paying me $100 to be there from 0500-0900 'in case we need you to recover a load'. Whatever that may mean. The BOL in the load assignment says 'P&G Staging'. -
I’m at Jurupa doing orientation.
Anyone have a suggestion on a mentor? -
You will get who is available at the time.
Good luck.otterinthewater Thanks this. -
Sunol, CA at the weigh station.
Picked up an Owens Corning Fiberglass load this afternoon in Santa Clara. They were late with the load just like last time I picked up there. I got there at 1130, with a pu window that started at 0830, and I had to wait 3 hours before it was finished.
By that time I had less than 3.5 hours left on my 14 and rush hour had begun. It took an hour and a half to get here, 20 miles away, and then I was down to 2 hours. No way would I make a truck stop in that time, so I stopped here.
First time I've had to take a 10 at a weigh station.FerrissWheel and otterinthewater Thank this.
