Yes when I needed to replace the injectors all six of them. I lost power at the higher gears and the truck would vibrate a bit especially going uphill.
I would have to prime the engine all the time and it gets old real fast doing that.
But it isn’t always an injector issue just most of the time. Best to have it checked. Don’t let it go too long it just gets worse.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely get the injectors checked
-
Because that's the highest load, highest cylinder pressure.
Pressure tries to escape from the leaky cups into the fuel supply.. And into the coolant sometimes.Rob100100 Thanks this. -
SOrry to revive an old post, but I am having similar issues.
Now before you all start jumping in saying "replace the injectors" I must disagree with you, because:
If the injectors were cracked, broken, or leaking, not only would it not start, but it would run like crap too. and vibrate like a som gun climbing a hill.
Now with that said, I replaced ALL 6 of my injectors and shortly after is when we started having startup issues.
Truck runs great once running, idles no issues, and I will wave at all the petes, freights, and KW's as I pass them climbing donners.
If I prime with the pump, it will start right up.
SO I am assuming either the check valve is not working or pump is worn out. (which also would not make sense because it does not run rough) -
I was told by a Volvo tech it could also be the harness that runs to the injectors. I was told that the harness it’s most of the time the problem for the Volvo.

It's not the injectors.
It's the cups leaking combustion gas into inside cavity displacing the fuel.... Where the injectors sit.
Repriming to replace fuel constantly is indicator of leaking cups.

I replaced all 6 injectors and cups in April this year, and yesterday took it back in shop with long cranking , lack of power , they replaced all the injectors again. I had this injector replacement job done 4 times on my last truck in 1.8 mill miles , and this is 2nd set on this truck, but never after such a short time/miles, but as i talk to technicians ,i understand it happens.

Finally had some time this week to get it into the shop and tear it apart. Turns out I was right, the check valve on the back of the engine (where the fuel lines come in and return to the fuel tanks) was stuck open. replaced that and all is well again.
Its a pain in the but, I tell ya. First you have to tear apart the lower portion of your dash to get into the dog house, but once in there, the lines are right there on top of the trans at the back of the engine.
I thank everyone for their responses, and as a reply to Johny41... yea, thats the crap we take in our line of work, #### happens and not one small shop will honor their own work (warranty)
Again thank you all, and I finally got this crap figured out. NOW do I trade it in or keep it (since its basically a new truck now LOL)Newto Trucking Thanks this. -
Good deal glad you got it up and running! Hopefully the valve wasn't stuck open, broken, because of overpressure in the head!

I have a 2012 and i replace the one on front the Engine, is their one on the back also?.
Thanks
