Go around scales.

I wouldn't in Ga unless your truck is tip top. Otherwise the fine will be relatively small. You will be pulled through every house though. Slide your fifth wheel as far forward as you can, burn fuel, and hope for a cean CVSA sticker.x1Heavy Thanks this.

Truck is a daycab with 140 gallon tanks, so loosing 60 gallon of fuel, when I’m already at half a tank, isn’t a option.
I think I’ll just order the permit.sealevel Thanks this. -
How much is product weight?
-
The back I wouldn't sweat. Run the fifth wheel up, loose any chains you can, get it as close to 12120, 34000, and 34120 as you can and roll.

I ran this 250 miles from Apple Creek, OH to Ontario through Fort Erie on a third of a tank of fuel. Put in 30 gallons in Austinburg, OH and crossed the border.
Suck it up and run them down. I've got 120 gallon tanks. Know your fuel economy, do the math, and keep it where you need to be to be legal. -
The permit is only $31
I would run it and not think twice
What are they going to do fine you a dollar a pound ? -
This explains why I've been seeing bobtails being pulled over in VA. This week, I seen about 5 bobtail (different times & locations), with DOT man all over them.stwik Thanks this.

You running a spread or a tandem in the rear?
Slide it forward till you’re less than 500 pounds over on the drives. Play fuel game for the rest...that is unless you can dump your chains/anything you don’t need.
If the permits are cheap. Get permits. Silly not to have some cheap insurance.
On the flip side. It’s driver safety week. I haven’t seen any inspections going on, period, across the 10/20 these past few days. Not one. Granted I’m not out east yet...Zeviander Thanks this.
