Years ago, we would run the back way from the north 40, come down 69, 100, and whatnot. There were several bridges on hwy 7 marked 8 ton limit..
I meant to call the state road dept and tell them they could hold 40 tons, heck they could hold two trucks meeting on that bridge. Ms road department sign makers aren't good at math or weights.

Tried to post around lunch time today, but apparently the cell service in Ozona isn't as good as the bars on my phone makes it out to be...so here's what I was trying to post.
So y'all know those quick short loads that pay well? The ones that are the type to turn into a cluster F real quick. Yep that was my afternoon yesterday. A hotshot load of drill rig cable (7ft spool, 30k lbs) going 37mi. I was pissed because that load paid me approx $17, so I didnt even bother to ask what it was, just showed up. When I found out it was a spool, I laughed and told them I couldnt do it because the truck owner has failed for 2mo's to outfit my truck with chains and binders. The broker calls me and is asking if there is any way I can strap it. Nope. I aint takin the chance because I can already see how this is going to go.
Long story short, my boss said he wasn't gonna buy any chains and to scrap the load. From here it went to hell. Broker is now pissed, and is claiming his customer has pulled the load and said they won't be using them any more and wouldnt answer his calls. On top of that pretty sure a drill rig got shut down last night because of this. Boss thinks its no big deal.
