More Than 200 People Infected by Parasite Linked to Del Monte Vegetables

This one is in the WI, MN and surrounding states area

I don't get it. Seems the more technology we bring in and the fewer people handling our fresh foods, the more "outbreaks" we have. But I suspect we've always had them, except back decades ago, when you got a stomach bug, you just rode it out, and went on about your business, no big deal. Today, as soon as somebody gets a stomach cramp, they run to the doctor yelling about an attempt on their life.

Pre-packaged veggies are too wet. You know nasty stuff is going to thrive in that environment.

Nature weedng out the lazy again. :)

this is true. i can buy a bag of pre-package lettuce from my grocer, under thier store brand name, and it is soaking wet, and rots out in less than a week.

i can buy the walmart pre-package lettuce, and it is dry as all heck, and lasts OVER a week.

Speaking of things Walmart is better at... milk. If I buy milk from a truck stop, no matter the date, I can’t get four days out of it before it goes bad.

Walmart milk? Let’s ask Mr. Owl...

    9... 10... 11...

i don't drink milk, cuz i can't. i do buy heavy cream when i am making swedish meatballs sauce, or some dessert, like bread pudding, so the cream goes zip fast. i do shop around for prices on the cream, it is a tad bit cheaper at walmart, over the large grocery chain store.
