    MONFORT?!
    Man-0-Man ---- I haven't heard that word in awhile. :biggrin_25512:

I've run with a few Monfort drivers, and knew a few former Monfort drivers -----
And they all had one thang in common
NoNe of 'em had ANY problem keepin' their wheels turnin'-----
    FasT!
Their problem was keepin' said wheels on
    the GROUND.
    Git-'er-done!
    They DID.

And thanx for the trip down
    Memory Lane. :salute:

Anyone remember Webbe Brothers outta Utah?

    JC1971 Thanks this.

Ya and Tigator and I worked for American Farm Lines, had all those 85 mph 903 V8 Cummins. Fox-Smythe is still in busines I think. Believe I saw one in NM 1st of Jan. What was the hvy equipment hauler from Houston, hauled all the stuff for the AK pipeline? Leeway and their wiggle wagons and MClean. Hats off to them. I was shaken when Mclean went under.

I am from N.Y. and believe it or not i was the kid that just got out of collage in the upstate ''big house'' lol,lol and i was the kid unloading the meat on the dock..ONE OF MY FIRST JOBS I GOT WHEN RELEASED FROM THE ''school of hard knocks'',lol, lol Unloaded a few MONFORTS IN MY DAY....

Then i graduated from that and started driving in 86 and hauling beef for ''ole'' clancy brothers out of N.Y.You may remember us,YOU MAY NOT.Clancy been around since the 40's hauling beef.......Did that for 10 years chasing ''monfort trucks'' to N.Y....LOL,LOL

Clancy brothers folded 1.5 years ago..Lost all our accounts to the ''BIG COMPANIES''..IT WAS A SAD DAY WHEN THEY FOLDED....OUTLAW TRUCKING WE WERE......MADE ALOT OF GREAT MONEY BACK THEN..I MISS IT ALOT....

:biggrin_25519:Hey 1POD, I do remember Clancy Bros. Used to run the heck out of 80 and 90 headen for NY. Those WERE the good ol'days. The newbees today wouldn't have had a chance then. We were a different breed and we had fun doing it too. I really enjoyed trucking back then.:biggrin_25525: Thanks for the reply, was begining to think I was an antique or something.:biggrin_2551:

Does anyone remember Day's Express out of Indiana. There were a few of those guys that could keep up with the Circus Wagons, but I never seen one out front. Those were the good ole days.

:biggrin_25520:Yea I remember Days Express. I was thinking the other day( watch out) and came up with CTI ( Carpet Transport) out of Georgia. They used to get out and run with those brown KWs. Still see a few of those around pulling containers in Houston.:biggrin_25519:
