Left Ingersoll, ONT on Monday Jan. 12th, picked up in London, ONT.
Delivered in Oshkosh, WI the following day.
Drove empty to Fridley (Minneapolis), MN and reloaded there on the Wednesday.
Spent the week-end in Ferndale, WA.
Delivered in Coquitlam, BC on Monday Jan. 19th.
Drove empty to Tieton (Yakima), WA.
Picked up a load of apples late Tuesday night and left Wednesday at 3 in the morning.
Dropped the loaded trailer at the yard in Ingersoll, ONT Saturday Jan. 24th at 6PM.

13 days.
8996 kms.
5578 miles.
2 Provinces.
11 States.
Saw -33F on the thermometer.
And +55F.
Green grass.
4 feet tall snowbanks.

 

Yesterday, in NY.

This place is the warehouse for a plant that makes TV dinners.
We pick up from this place all the time.
I was thinking they will take the 20 skids off and put a new 20 or so skids on and I'll be home Saturday night.
Not quite the plan they had for me.
I got to go switch trailers in Fort-Worth, TX.
About 300 miles away. Out of the way.
And remember, I already did 2 Ingersoll, On / Syracuse, NY and got to Stiwell, OK. And it's Friday morning already.
This is going to be a tight fit in the 70 hours I'm allowed to work.

 

Last week was a really crappy week, nothing was moving and I had Monday, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and most of Sunday off.

 

I delivered a load of frozen bread to a grocery wholesaler in Westfeild, Mass last night.
They rejected one skid of product because they didn't like the "best before" date on it. It was 1 month short of what they wanted.

The seller didn't want to get the bread back.

Canada Customs probably would not have like me to get it back across the border without additional paperwork.

My boss didn't want me to haul it back and told me to get rid of it.

I thought it would be a shame to throw it all in a dumpster.

When I got at the pick-up for my back-haul, I told the owner of the company about my little problem and he agreed with me and called the local soup kitchen.

They got here in no time to pick up 600lbs of free whole grain bread.

I feel better now knowing it's not wasted and it's gonna help some people.
