It also helps to think "outside the box", so to speak, and try to see the big picture. When you do that, the company doesn't look so bad.

One question I have is did he still get the same amount of time off? Or is this a case of not only did he get home a day later, they also shorted him a day? If that's what happened, then I can see his point.

I appreciate all of your angles on this situation, but hey like I said that was strike one.Dont feel like being screwed over when I have been playing catchup all week, and am on my way home.As far as problems, yes thats the first problem with them. The point here is even tho they are a good co.they will still screw one driver to help someone else or more than likely, stick a bad load on him that nobody else wants.Like I said before STRIKE ONE.I will have a chat with the powers that be this week about the situation.

    Road,

I'd give it another week before you say anything. If you're still mad, then grab someone by the ear.

Newbie2be,your statement makes a lot of sense.I have no intention of telling them to take their truck and shove it at this point.I do tho feel like it is better to try and straighten the situation out ASAP,in other words nip it in the bud.I realize it only threw me about 15 hrs.late getting home but I had nursemaided that load from Sunnyvale,TX.to Gary,IN.and it was MY get home load. Then they,or him,my dispatcher decides that someone else is more important than me.That dog dont hunt with me.

Road dog- dude, I feel your pain. But really, maybe this would be best left alone. Let me recall a not so awesome moment back when I was driving for Covenant:
I picked up a load in marengo,Ill , with two stops: one delivery in Grand rapids, the other in Detroit- now, this was set up as deliver in Detroit frist, then Grand Rapids. Well, the load got loaded in the other order (which made more sense), and, I had the second stop delivered by 1130 am. I begged my dispatcher to let me start my weekend early (because from where i delivered, I would have been home in 30 mins). I was told i was on a regional board that guaranteed 2400 miles a week, and I was going to get them (after having a slow start to the week). here's how my day went:
Detroit to Napoleon, OH (Campbell's P/U) to Indianapolis to drop at the Yard. P/U in Indy (at Carrier Co.), haul to Columbus Oh (drop at terminal again). from Columbus to Sterilite in Massilon,OH, to Galesburg,MI (target), and then finally, 130 miles home.
And I had plenty of other nightmares happen with them- home on the weekend (supposedly) and making a pickup to get me home, except, oops, the pickup is in Pontoon Beach,Ill, and I am heading out with it at 0300 saturday morning. SO, even though what they did sucked, it could be a WHOLE LOT WORSE!
    Just my experience, good luck!:smt033

THX for all the feedback on this issue.Guess I will just go ahead and go out next turn and see how things go.My dispatcher has already got an earful from me on the subject, when he changed the load.Maybe he got the point and it sank in.Only time will tell.

Hey Road I'm like you. If something is done that I don't think is right I'm gonna say something. Otherwise people think I don't care and the same thing can occur again. This way you put your DM on notice that you didn't care to be taken off that load and for the reasons stated.

Up here at 5 AM,getting ready to start my week out with Roehl.Talked with dispatch yesterday and in a nice way I let them know I was not at all happy with the way things went last time out. They were very nice about it and explained they needed the load moved that they stuck on me and they needed to get another driver home. That will do for now.supposed to be headed for Alabama with my first load.Should have some nice weather down that way.Been cold and even had a little snow up here in Ohio.Whispers,I will be keeping an eye out for 5711.

Hey Road Dog. Just to forewarn you, you may get sent to Meadwestvaco in Cottonton, AL to grab your next load since you're down that way. Your mood isn't going to change much once you deal with those folks.

Just take it in stride, and bite through it. Things at Roehl can't always be peachy keen.

Hey Road hubby was down in NC at this week. He did run into someone from the forum at a truck stop. They came over to say hi and to say they have talked to me here. He was in Wisconsin and got out before it snowed there. Things to look forward to I guess.
