You're lucky texas didn't say anything about missing mudflap.

I got dinged for improper mudflaps. Because they were flapping in the wind. Yet. I didn't see any locals with measures to prevent their flaps from flapping.

Colorado wanted to say something also but didn't.

The can be more thorough. Do you have spare fuses, spare lightbulbs, they have you turn the front tires back and forth while standing in front so the can see the brakes and suspension. How about trailer registration? You missing any reflective tape?

Lol at stressing over a level 2. I don’t even consider that an inspection

Start worrying when the creeper comes out and they crawl underneath for brake measurements

I've been stopped for an inspection twice in the same day one time. 2 days in a row before. Also twice in 2 weeks. The FMCCO's love a fuel hauler, log truck, dump truck and hot shot rigs.

The only time I nearly lost my cool is when I was written up for a slack adjuster being out of spec. I went straight to the shop and had it adjusted. The technician said it was nowhere near what the officer said it was. Said it was actually within spec...barely...but still legal. Told my terminal manager that we should dispute it, but he wasn't interested.

I get $50 on my safety bonus for every clean report....so bring it.

I got a Level 3 (driver only) about 2 weeks ago. When the officer got to me door, I said, "Let me guess; your AC went out and you want to sit in mine for a minute?" He got a good chuckle out of it. Held me there for about 10 min and sent me on my way with a $50 redeemable safety bonus certificate.

Where is this 9th drive tire located?
Is it the rri, rfi, rfo, rro, or lri, lro, lfi, lfo?

I've developed a pretty good repor with the Troopers at the Superior scale in Wisconsin. They have a job to do and just want to go home at the end of the day.
The easier I make it for them the faster it goes for both of us.

I’ve never been inspected at a scale house (cuz I don’t go through them), but I seem to get a random roadside inspection every year.

The week before last I was chased down and pulled over 4 times in a 7 day period by NY State DOT I got a level 2 and a level 3 ,got 3 violations ( no tickets, just fix it violations),marker light, license plate light and new mud flap forgot to put reflective tape on it.. Everyone I know who does what I do,haul overweight ( with a NY overweight permit) got pulled over at least twice. The fourth time I got chased down where route 17 west merges into 81 north it was pouring rain and the trooper ( who I knew,he's inspected me before) opened my passenger door looking in my truck asked me if I had been inspected yet this week and I told him he was the fourth time I was pulled over that week and I was pulled over 3 other times and inspected twice. I showed him my paperwork and he seen everything was legit. I asked why all the roadside inspections this week and he said they were doing a size and weight thing this week.
He asked if I had anyone in my sleeper, which was odd, I joked around and said I had 3 fat girls tied up back there ( I almost said "next to my bloody clown suit",but I didn't want to push it too far ,he seemed like he was on a mission). He stepped up into my truck and opened the curtain and looked around and I just smiled, and he smiled back and got out and took off. I found out later they pulled over a truck and the driver wreaked of pot and they searched the truck and found drugs and a loaded gun and arrested the driver ( I know the owner of the company, but not the driver that got arrested) I guess he thought he might get lucky with me. No matter How nice they may seem ,they're all still on a mission....Lol.

Sounds about right. My last level 1 was in Midland. DPS was sitting on the side of the road. He saw me, I saw him quickly throw his Tahoe into drive and whip around behind me. 65 in a 65. "Stopped you for an inspection." Took my CDL and said "follow me." I was nervous, but it was no big deal. Passed with no discrepancies found after about 90 minutes. Dude had a jumpsuit and checked EVERYTHING.

It's your first but won't be your last. Congrats on the pass!
