most my normal stopping grounds scales are never open with a few exceptions. they pull you over on the side of the road and then either inspect you right there or they may pull you over just before a rest area or pullout and direct you to go there or a near by closed scale for inspection. i like it better that way less chance of getting picked out of the crowed than rolling threw a open scale house but im sure they catch a lot more guy who don't have there stuff up to snuff that way because they would just route around the scales otherwise.

You bragging about license to carry and not carrying a weapon. Why announce it anyway if you are if the cop doesn’t ask for it. This isn’t nazi Germany. I haul in state only and don’t offer information unless asked for it. If a cop asks if you are carrying a weapon than yeah give him your credentials. When a cop pulls you over don’t start saying “hi I have a gun and I’m licensed to carry”. It doesn’t make you look like a cool citizen and the cops gonna let you off. It makes you look like a tool bag looking for brownie points and annoys police.

There are many states that require you to tell a cop that you are carrying a concealed weapon. If you are carrying it is a good idea to be familiar with the laws in states that you travel in.

Not true at all unless you can cite the law code that states that you must tell the officer unless asked. Please cite the law. Pick a state. Any state and I will digress

Yeah, they started setting up in The East Branch rest area a lot this year, they used to do that a lot years ago and stopped for a while. They like to sit in the middle before Whitney Point ( trooper Holocek) and in the middle before Cortland (trooper Peck) and chase you down and inspect you off those exits. I usually go up the thruway loaded and come home empty down 81. I only go that way loaded if I get stuck with a load, too much DOT that way in the morning between the spots they hang out in the middle and the inspection stations at the 61 and 71 mile markers.
They've been pretty active this year .

That’s weird. Most of my inspections one DOT officer holds a gun to my head and the other does a level 1. They measure brake stroke down to the millimeter, we tee off the compressor and measure air loss with a pressure gauge, we check the torque for each individual lug nut, measure tread depth on every tire, pull and inspect every fuse, etc.

Now I wonder if I should say something, but is it worth getting shot?

Read all of those citations you posted. Where does it state penalties about not informing officer? You posted a bunch of nonsense infractions that has nothing to do with not informing officer that you legally carry when not asked. Looks like a bunch of penalties for someone that got searched becuase the person deserved it and was carrying illegally. If you are a suspicious person and you are about to be searched than yeah, by all means you should probably tell the cop you are packing. So maybe the op is a pot head looking fellow
