Cake decorators lol. People don't usually die from an improperly decorated cake. If I screw up bad enough with the milk truck I'm driving I could KILL someone. Any idiot can drive a truck. Drive a truck without damaging truck, killing someone, getting a ticket or violation, in my case causing a rejected load......is a skill.

I have more to worry about then just driving. I have to make sure everything is correct with the load so it's not rejected. If it gets rejected what's the point in driving.

I work in concrete usually 50 to 60 hours a week and get to see my kids everyday. I used to drive the trucks all day everyday now I just drive the loader I still drives the trucks a few times a month. The job is gravy and after reading about the otr guys and milage pay I'm happy I opted to take hourly pay in the concrete industry 10 years ago. I make $25 an hour (37.50 in overtime) to sit on my ### and do my job. what could be better? I live in Oklahoma so it's like being rich here lol

I like the headline on this mornings daily trucker shortage article.

    "TRUCKER REAP PROFITS AMID SHORTAGES"

Truckers finally almost being paid what they should instead of working for food.

I did concrete for 3 years. Driving a truck with square wheels ain't quite all that.

I don't believe there is a shortage at all. shake a tree and 10 drivers fall out. LtL no shortage, just the over the road drivers are in demand. all because the veteran drivers quit. who the heck came up with the stupid phrase "Seasoned Drivers" only a moron would use that phrase. We are Veteran drivers, if you have to use a word. Now remember, us veteran drivers have lots of phrases for new truck drivers, so you don't want to go there. Keep the peace here, or some will deal with the mods here, your choice.

For what it is worth, I have only held my CDL for a year or so and I now have a job where I am home nightly, weekends off, brand new truck, and paid well hourly. I can also work those weekends anytime I’d like as long as I have the hours of course. I was going to school for computer repair and Cisco networking and now I strongly considering sticking with trucking.
