Why is the Horn switch on my International so sensitive?

A quick fix is look under hood and unplug the horn. To be legal you only need one horn working. Least I have never recieved a ticket for only one operable horn.

 

Mack’s are also very sensitive.

 

Both horns must work.

 

Give it some tough love so it is not so sensitive.

I found a solution for the Mack, Pry off the center piece and find an thin O ring that size, I will cushion it just enough where it still works but you will need to apply more pressure to it.

 

Wrong I've had several inspections they only care that one works.

 

The plastic horn button just warps from the sun heat, gets misshapen. You can try to remove the horn button and pull the metal under side out more to give you more clearance, or just replace it. To remove it, you need to stick a long screwdriver into those 4 holes, 2 on each side to release a spring clip. Stick it in one hole at a time and push in, you should feel it spring back if you found it. Pull that corner of the horn button up as you push the spring tab in. It is very hard to find by feel sometimes, so don't be surprised if you end up breaking a tab or two on the horn button.
