After reading thru this thread all I can say is, not to many chicken haulers and bull haulers left these days!
Use to do Fla and Alabama to LA every week. Up to the valley, produce back to Florida. Easy peasy. But I also had a truck that could out run Jesus. Not one of these castrated plastic trucks. And no I never ran multiple log books.

i've done it before but fell short of 4,000 i haul intermodal so i my dispatcher to put me on urbandale, IA monday through friday to what was so "good about these runs in terms of pay".
ran 3,600 miles (each run was give or take 700 miles round trip).
tell you what, slept for nearly 36 hours on the weekend lol. -
Absolutely. This is my normal week.
Cleveland to Austin drop and hook.
Cleveland to Hartford drop and hook.
We use eLogs and CNG trucks governed at 70mph. I depart Monday afternoon and get home Saturday night.
You just can’t dilly-dally and take a bunch of breaks. And you have to be smart and time the trips so you aren’t hitting rush hour in any major cities. -
I know this is an old thread and the OP was @pattyj. Wonder why she hasn't been around here.

Can it be done? Maybe, maybe not, everything has to line up just right. More importantly why would anyone WANT to do that? If your paid by the mike so poorly that you need 4000 miles a week. Or if your percentage is so low, or based off a number so low. That this needs to be done. You have bigger problems than can this be done. I get doing or trying to do every now and then. But on a consistent basis? Jack to the no.

It's easier to team and do a LA to Avenel and return in 6 days and some hours. And this is in a 63 mph truck.
4000 miles vs 70 hours come out to 57 mph, essentially averaging over 60+ You need a 75-85 mph state with a truck that is not governed and able to get up and run to make that in your 70 hours solo. My answer, 3000 maybe but not 4000 with a solo unless it's outrageous.
One thing for sure is that you will not be able to keep this up more than a few weeks. Going fast in a semi takes alot out of a driver.
So, bottom line, anyone who advertises 4K miles I call BS. It holds no attraction to me as a solo. I have done many say Yakima WA to Boston in 6 days or less usually 5 and in winter to boot as a solo in a 72 mph truck. It makes for a pretty good work week. And none of the off log stuff like Lancaster to Little Rock overnight. -
I’ve run hard in Iowa. They barely open their scales. The one south of Sioux City is always closed. The one on 80 just east of Nebraska is sometimes open. The one on 218 or 61 I can’t remember the single axle pos is never open...
If you got a truck that can run the speed limit or a little over it can be done. Idk about every day legally but I’ve run from Minneapolis to wever to rock island IL to offload then does moines to offload and got another load in Sioux City and slept. Horrible day... lol -
I did 3675 in a 70 hour week in a 64 mph truck a couple months ago. It's easy when all you do is drive.
