I’ve got a streak goin. I’ve got certain friends that always seem to find hot deals on stuff. Not talkin bout tires and such, but just stuff in general. Example: a good friend of mine just bought a belly dump trailer. 98 model Ranco. A little beat, everything works as it should. $1500. A coat of paint and it’s easily a $10,000 wagon. I never find deals like that, or if I do I’m just a little too late.
Well this morning I thought I had the deal of all deals. Local radio station has a call-in buy/sell/trade show every morning. Fella calls in, connection is not the best, but I heard “I’ve got a 3406E, ran great when we pulled it out, $1,000.”
Man I couldn’t get the phone out quick enough. Bout the time I start punching numbers (as he was saying them) the show host repeats his ad.
“Ok, you’ve got a good 4L60E, $1,000....”
And the streak continues.
Where is everyone #5

Ever feel like you’re not really at a truck stop just a FedEx swap yard?
That’s me today.
#### these pricks. -
@sawmill
Jody’s Diner and Tumblin Tumbleweeds... yay/nay? -
Jody's for sure.
Tumbleweeds is ok if you want to overpay for a greasy steak.
If you like Mexican look for Jalisco just up the road past Don Pedro's. Plenty of truck parking. -
Mine needed one last load. Currently delivering. Then I get to go home tonight instead of back up to the limestone quarry (woohoo!).
Tomorrow I get to go deliver a load of calcium that came out of the US that the pickup driver conveniently "wasn't able to deliver" because he conveniently left late Sunday rather than in the morning. He does this often and it's getting frustrating. And he's getting away with it because he's been at the company for 16+ years.
Now, I don't argue with more miles, but seriously dude, do your ####ing job and unload what you bring back so that the rest of us bulk guys can take the surprise loads that come in Wednesday and Thursday. -
Sister is mostly back %100. All went well as she is healthy to start with. So one last nice lunch.....(Cesar with tuna)....
trip to take Sadie the dog to the dog park.
And enjoy the perfect weather here in the Colorado mountains.
Headed out back to Illinois in the morning.
I’ve been trying to do the overhead on my unit for a couple months..... Finally decided to have a local Peterbilt mechanic come over on his off time this last weekend and do it for me. He gave a clean bill of health on the Cummins ReCon with 115k miles so far.Last edited: Jul 24, 2018
