ATA Issues New Truck Driver Compensation Study

ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Trucking Associations today released the ATA Driver Compensation Study with data from 2007 and 2008 operations. It is ATA's first report on driver compensation since 2003.

"The trucking industry faces many challenges in 2009," said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. "Appropriately compensating and retaining top-notch drivers is a necessity for companies trying to weather the current economic storm. This study provides very important national and regional data the industry desperately needs today and during the subsequent economic recovery."

I hope the ATA didn't give any secrets away with that informative article.

They will probable conclude that driver wages for TL carriers are at, or above, what wages should be for work performed.

You know the ATA is ALWAYS on the side of the driver.
