Yep and they pay no federal tax! Must be nice
Amazon Inc. Paid Zero in Federal Taxes in 2017, Gets $789 Million Windfall from New Tax Lawmagoo68 Thanks this. -
I feel like I pretty much MADE Amazon. I am a GREAT customer, and have been for years and years. And their customer service was, for the longest time, second to none. They set the standard.
But as a shipper/receiver? They are ##### a-holes.
Their schedulers basically use Mapquest to decide how long it will take their TRUCKS to arrive to their destination. Nevermind the legally mandated breaks. Nevermind stopping to fuel. Nevermind that we are humans and not robots. Nevermind the slower truck speed compared to cars. Nevermind the slower truck speed when loaded and traveling over a mountain. Nevermind weather. Nevermind traffic. Nevermind that they are in the midwest and setting deadlines for I-5 through the Seattle, Portland, and Southern California areas! Idiots. They do not have a single clue.
Their "Command & Control" center operators are rude. You call them to say you'll be late because of traffic, and they're so bored and disinterested. They say they noted your account, but they almost never do. If you forget to note their name at the beginning of the call, and ask them at the end, they hang up on you. They are horrible.
Their warehouses are also super fun. I'm honestly thinking of personally investing in custom signs that read "Get the F (spelled out) off our property!" They have a hard and fast rule that nothing should ever take more than 30 minutes. Dropping and hooking doubles? 30 minutes. In most cases, their yard dogs won't even assist. If you don't have a pintle hook, you must drag the dolly manually. And at about minute 20, the guards come over to interrogate you to find out if you're going to be out on time. They have actually made us leave early before we even did a pre-trip, or anything else, because if we're not outside of their gate by minute 30, the guards get in trouble.
I loathe them.
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
Recommend avoiding them. One of our drivers (O/O) did two loads from Vegas to Salt Lake City for them. They didn't pay for one of them. We still paid our driver but it set us back 1300. We put them on our personal blacklist.
line Thanks this. -
Why didn’t they pay that second ?

MY truck is a 2009 , is it too old to haul for them?
-
Absolutely not. They will take anybody dumb enough to accept their low rates.
-
What about the peak season and everyone making big $$, that's some ads I see out there.
-
They will pay the baseline of whatever is necessary to move their freight during the holiday season, yes.
But you had better have another gig lined up come January. -
We hauled for them back in the bad old days when we had vans. We hauled for them for two weeks.
The only reason we hauled for two weeks because we couldn't believe everything that went on there and worked the second week just to be sure.
I've never seen such a disorganized place in my life. And cheap? Very.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
