I believe you. I almost started with them. Glad I didn't. I could tell by talking to them enough that they were just like most of the liars and game players in the industry.

wonder why they would send you down to n.c when you are in ohio... wasnt iowa or york, pa closer to you then to go all the way down to n.c. ... just thought i would ask.

 

Wow... anyone else find it weird most of the post was directed at complaining about food and how its somehow barr nuns responsibility to ensure all prospective drivers get coffee and food?

Dunno but I found the entire post to be questionable, especially considering the constant tonw of veiled racism.

 

reimbursements for bus , taxis , gas money for personell vehical are expected to be payed by the carrier to the perspective driver plus a payment of up to $100 or more for completion of orientation and a possible sign bonus.

Funny I thought times right now if you have a job your lucky. I could see getting some of these things with the expirience the original poster has however, I think these should have been addressed before getting on the bus.
I looked and did not see how it was decided approach Barr-Nunn. A slick ad in a magazine? I would think that you would want to ask a few of thier drivers what they thought before you rely solely on the honesty of a recruiter.

 

I worked for BarrNunn almost 2 years and got sick and they would not like me have the time off to get well, so I quit and they did not care at all. I got one safety award and was 100% on time pu and del. Everything they told me was not true about this company when I went there but I still stuck it out so my dac would not be screwed up worst. I quit one day and had another job the same day with a company that has no problems with taking off if you are sick. Also no picking up a night and running thru the night to get there the next day (fedex Loads) SuXX . I thank the good LORD above everyday that I do not work there anymore and I also got out without have to pay them anything after I turned trk in. Which is straps, lock, fuel card ETC they charge so much for everything you dont return!! So be for warned!! Good Day

 

I don't because every trucking outfit I have signed on with promised just that. Free coffee, free lunch, free room and board, free transportation to orientation.

The last OTR company I worked for (May Trucking) was mediocre IMO but they where honest with me and I spent my orientation in a nice Hotel with a kitchen, King size bed, free full breakfasts, free trips each day to the buffet for a free lunch, and a free taxi ride from the train station. (I don't ride in Buses). In fact when I quit they payed my way back to the train station.

If the company starts out breaking promises before orientation. You would be foolish to seat one of their trucks.

Though some people seemed more concerned with how the poster conveyed their post. I got the jist of the post. The OP says they are Dishonest. Which is no surprise to me.

 

This guy sounds like a cry-baby.
