Some of this information doesn't apply to the tanker side for those of you interested on those trucks. As a tanker driver, if your truck didnt have an inverter which most do not, you were given a car battery and cables to recharge it. The battery and cables were given to you in a sturdy bag which they was stored in.

Flow below stuff. Yup when a tire blows that will be some good flow below stuff. And flow to the road as well. Don't bother to stop and pick it up.

I have sleep apnea and will be joining the tanker division. Does this mean that they will install an inverter in my truck to power the CPAP? Am I at risk for draining the battery by powering my machine? Thanks in advance.

tankers can idle at will, or used to be able to. Even if thats changed, other accommodations are made.

you will likely be issued a 12v power cord. if not ask for one from ppd, which is the 3rd party driver liason for apnea issues, supplies, technical help.

Oh yeah, I kinda forgot that a tanker has to idle in order to power a pump.

Actually the tankers idle for heat in transit which some products require even during summer months. Like I said most trucks at Schneider tanker side dont have inverters. Supposedly, this year the reserve operating center is slated for 28 trucks, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that as the test truck is still out testing. As Mickey said you can idle which I would highly recommend due to the fact that the fuel bonus program at Schneider is impossible to gain since sleeping in a hot truck is impossible.

Yeah, I'll idle then during the summer. Screw the fuel bonus, sleep is more important!

You would think Schneider would be actively looking and looking hard for a cooling solution for the tanker tractors. Also, I got the results of my latest sleep apnea study. Since losing 72 pounds, I no longer have sleep apnea! So I could live without an inverter.

    mickeyrat and taodnt Thank this.
