You must be an owner-operator? No company driver...who goes home every night makes that kind of money around here. We have some guys who work nonstop 6 days/week who barely gross $1600/week.
I do know some guys with their own trucks who bring in about $120ish.

Depends on your location too. 100k plus in California isn't unheard of at all for a local company driver. I believe I'm around 57k for the year right now.

No, I’m not an owner operator. I’m just in a good position. Deliver all my loads back back to town I live in. Nearest pipelines are 100 miles west and 100 miles east, all 75mph interstate. Generally average around $35/hr.
I’ve never heard of any companies that offer $35/hr, which is why imo as long as you are competent and work fast, you can make much more money with load pay versus hourly pay -
I'm currently on $43.50 an hour with paid breaks and 4 weeks annual leave plus 10 days paid sick leave however to be fair i'm working in a different country woo hoo. so an average 10 hour day for me earns $435 to haul 50,000 litres of Diesel fuel .pathfinder1361 Thanks this.

DOT knows that it takes 30-45 minutes to deliver a station. DOT knows if looking close enough, that if you have 3 breaks conveniently scheduled at your delivery sites, you're lying. But, if you reverse it and go off duty at the loading racks, then it's more obscure. You could say look, I was waiting in line and the rack was down, and it only takes 20 minutes to load a truck gate to gate when the rack is empty, you can see I was here for 60-75 minutes and my BOL shows this is when I finished loading. Then you're good provided your BOL doesn't overlap with your break times.

I don’t take multiple breaks every day. I only take 1. But I generally never spend more than 25 minutes at a station and I work nights so I never wait in line at the loading rack. On my middle load I always just have to spend that extra 5 minutes or so at the station to log my break. I’ll show 2 minutes of on duty time and a half hour break.
My boss was all over me about it since going on elogs in October.
Been written up 3 times (I do it every day, but he only looked at maybe 1 day every 2 months). Was threating to suspend me. Then we got audited in June, I was one of the drivers they examined, company was not cited or fined for any of my logs and we got a satisfactory rating
I’ve been continuing to log breaks while unloading and showing no unloading time and my boss has left me alone since the auditGoldDot40 Thanks this. -
Your racks don't shut down for inventory? No offense, but you sound more and more full of it every time post.
-
One rack I go to shuts down at 7am for inventory. Which doesn’t impact me in my schedule. A refinery i go to never shuts down for inventory. Sometimes they shut down for planned maintenance but you know about that days ahead of time and obviously don’t go there then. I don’t get paid demurrage til after I wait an hour. My total demmurage pay for 2018 is $22.50 so far, so no I don’t ever wait, other then maybe 10 minutes for a rack to open up if all randomly full at night.
I’m reality my $22.50 demurrage pay is from the burner going down and ending to call in technicians not even from a waiting line -
For the record though, I’m not full of anything. Everything I’ve posted in this thread and other threads is true
But I am in a very fortunate situation and area of the country where I can make money. I often think about putting house up for sale and moving to a more desirable area. Not sure if I would happier living somewhere with more outdoor recreation, but making less money and dealing with more traffic/stress. For now I will stay put where I’m at. -
Not sure why your so angry with me anyways. All I ever did was refute your claim that you need to be paid hourly to make real money in this business.
Let’s say you get $40/load. You get in out of the pipeline in 20 minutes assuming there’s no line. Can generally drop a load in 20-25 minutes assuming it’s not a full load of one product into 1 tank. That’s $40 for 45 minutes of your time. Assuming your average speed is decent, your getting highway miles and your not sitting in traffic all day there is a lot of money to be made with load pay if you don’t screw around.Air Cooled Thanks this.
