Hi Mrs. T,
I had chemo yesterday to keep the cancer at bay. They say it will go into hiding between treatments. The scans can't always see it all since it's hiding. So hopefully only 2 more treatments and I'll be done. I will have to keep on a diet for the rest of my life to keep myself alkaline. That will also keep the cancer away. Once the body cells go acid, cancer will return. Anyway, I'll be eating lots of green veggies, and fruits. No more coffee.. I hate that. It causes the acidity too. I saw Patrick Swayze on tv the other night. He sure didn't look good. Then I heard he was in the hospital with pneumonia. I sure hope he gets over that. Cancer can strike anywhere in the body. Guess his is in the Pancrease. Not a good place. Of course there is no good place for cancer in the body. I hate that disease. For me, the only thing that really makes me feel bad is the Chemo, not the cancer. I haven't had any pain from it, except for before I was diagnosed. I had abdominal pain. That is where they found it in me. It was in my lymph nodes there. Also had one in my right shoulder and 2 behind my sinus cavities. But never any pain, until right before I went into the hospital. Thanks for writing. I will try and keep in touch more. My computer was in the blitz. Actually, it was the cable. They had to come out and do some tweaking on it and finally it is running right again.
Take Care everyone and safe driving. Hope to be driving myself soon. It will probably be around April or May.
Love & Prayers

I went through chemo in 2000, a very very high dose round of it. It made me sick the first time, but after that I didn't get that bad offa it. Never lost all my hair but I was so scared I would. You will be okay, they told me I was gonna die in 6 months without treatment and that the treatment might make me die faster.
Very pessimistic drs I had, I actually didn't start fighting it until a year after the first diagnose. But I am alive. And you will be too.
Taught me one thing, appreciate everyday you have like tommorrow will never come. Say what needs to be said. =/ Ooo I do remember how HOT chemo seemed, it was like they microwaved it like hot fire in your veins.Mrs T Thanks this. -
Hi Dewfrogg,
just wondering how you are doing?
Guess the chemo is all finished now? Are you feeling better yet, and are you still planning to start driving again in a couple of months?
Let us all know how things are when you get a spare minute........ -
I still have 2 more chemos to go. I caught a cold and am not well enough to have my chemo on Tuesday. So I am going to go in this next Tuesday if I am feeling well enough. I hope this cold doesn't get any worse. I probably will go back into nursing for a while till I can get my health back before trying to go out on the road again. I know that nursing will not fire me for having cancer, and take my insurance away too all at the same time like Trans Am did to me. I don't know if I trust trucking companies anymore after that. The cancer I have can come back. But if I stay on a sugar free diet, it probably won't. And there are times when I do eat things I shouldn't, but I can't live on green veggies all the time.
Thanks for asking about me. I will try and keep in touch more often. I should be working within at least a month or 2. Tired of sitting home and doing nothing. I also have heard nothing from the disability people at the social security place. And I filed in Oct. for benefits. Guess my cancer isn't bad enough for me to be eligible. Or they have such a back log, they can't get to me... I can't live on nothing forever. So it's back to work I go as soon as I can. Have a great day Mrs. T.

Any news from Dewfrogg?
Can't PM as you don't have enough posts, but just wondering how's life treating you? -
Hi Mrs. T., Life is okay for now. I finished all of the lengthy chemo treatments, and have 2 years of getting it every 6 months. Have to do it for 4 days every 6 months. Just one chemo though, for maintenance treatment. I want to drive again, and Transam has asked me to come back 3 times. After the way they treated me, I have many reservations about going with them. I also had a blood clot develop in my jugular vein. Got that cleared up. But was scarey. I am going to have the port (where the chemo was put in) taken out on April 16th. After I heal from that, I am hoping to go to work somewhere. Any ideas of what trucking company might hire me with not much experience? I will also have to be off every 6 months for 4 days for treatments. But that isn't too much to ask a trucking company. I will also have to have insurance that will help me pay for the treatments. Everytime I had those big treatments, I would get the bill and it was over 19,000.00 for each one. I was in treatment every 3 weeks. I had a total of 6. I would have to stay in the hospital all day. It was quite an ordeal. And I would get sick too. So it wasn't much fun. After getting out of the chemo room, I would have to drive 55 miles back home. I did it by myself once. I didn't wreck... lol I was just very careful. Usually, the chemo would make me sick the following day for a few days... I am slowly growing hair back, but it's slow growing. So I still wear my wig when I go out. I am so ready to go back to work. My funds are running out. I tried to go back to work at a nursing home I worked at before to just pass out medications, but they wouldn't hire me because of my medical issues. Probably for the best. I went with my sis today to Amarillo and was on my feet in my best nursing shoes for just a short period, and my feet and toes were killing me. I don't think I can do nursing anymore. Will probably have to go back into trucking, which I like alot. But will have to solo this time, unless I can find a team mate. But I don't even know if I want to do that. I will need some backing practice. Since I'm rusty on that now. Well, gotta get busy around the house. With my aching feet!!!!
Sorry I haven't been here in a while. Been busy. Had to go 10 straight days to Amarillo for Lovenox shots to get the blood clot to dissolve. And I'm also taking 10mg of Coumadin a day. This has been the pits. But I think I will make it now.
Thanks lots

Hey Dewfrogg,
Glad to hear you are "finished" with your chemo for a bit anyway! Hope you find a company to work for soon. Let's see, you are sticking around for a while! Beating this cancer AND a bloodclot. SOMEBODY is looking out for Dewfrogg!
God Bless!
