I know a boatload of law enforcement officers...plus several in my family. They are not at all annoyed by a person announcing that they possess a firearm and showing credentials. Most will tell you it's not a big deal, but some will say they prefer it.
The ONE (13 years ago) time I didn't tell a GA Trooper I was armed...he spotted the pistol shoved between my seat and console. He didn't say anything until I was signing the citation and gave me a lecture about how I should have mentioned it....even though it's not required here. He also led me to believe that was part of the reason I was getting a ticket instead of a warning for 68 in a 55. That was actually the last speeding ticket I have received.

Haha. What the officer told me settled the entire issue and thousands of threads asking about it, and yet even on this thread the debate still goes on!
If i forget to reveal my chl, the officer sees that I have one when he runs my licence. Then comes back and asks why I did not mention it.misterG Thanks this. -
I look at it like this, your taxes pay for an undercover cop to be a secret to do his job. If you meet him, hes not going to tell you or anyone hes undercover and carrying.
So why would I tell a cop what they dont need to know unless they ask?
Its my right own a gun, to conceal carry and my state doesnt require i tell every tom dick and harry of a cop that i meet what bussiness i have going on on my person. -
And yet you still advocate not informing them that you have it? Seems safe to me.
I'll let them know and keep my wits about me thanks. Information and communication saves lives. If they know about it, we can handle the situation in a safe and professional manner. Everyone is safe and gets to go home at the end of the day. -
Why would i tell them im legally carrying? Should i tell them i have a compound bow or a crossbow too? What about a sword/katana? Throwing knives?
I get your talking about safety, but its concealed carry for a reason. So nobody knows but you.... an officer open carries, but i bet they have a sidearm elsewhere that they arent going to tell you about.
