Hey guys maybe you can help me out.

I purchased a 09 Columbia mid roof, and wanted to see if i can fit a double din in here or what was originally installed in the located marked with a read circle.

Also what is the hole top shelf called?

Also is there better cup holder from another truck i can exchange with? every time i put one in it falls off because of the slits on the front.

    Thanks for the help.

The hole up top is where the power and coax cable for a CB radio is. (Red circle)
You could mount something else in it, you will have to pull all new wire. That will take a lot of work, pulling almost the entire overhead unit, plus one side of the windshield plastic and the right side of the”dash” assembly. That’s if you want to use the factory wire for speakers and antenna. Pulling new wire, your going to take apart the cabinets and wall panels.

Look at your mirrors, you should see where they mount.
Not the best place, but works ok. Possible that the stock coax is bad, not uncommon for that. Not that hard to replace. Have to pull the bare cable then terminate the connector ends. A good shop can do it in a few hours.

After a roll of plastic clear tape is used up (you know the cheapest of pallet wrapping 2" wide stuff that one can be found on every warehouse receiving dock) I put in the cupholder it fits the hole perfect and cups fit the roll perfect.

Idk i put empty rolls into the factory cupholders that has a drink fall backwards onto the floor when you grab a gear from the notch they carve out for reasons unkown.
