Hey guys maybe you can help me out.
I purchased a 09 Columbia mid roof, and wanted to see if i can fit a double din in here or what was originally installed in the located marked with a read circle.
Also what is the hole top shelf called?
Also is there better cup holder from another truck i can exchange with? every time i put one in it falls off because of the slits on the front.
Thanks for the help.

I see you discovered that freightliner cup holders SUCK. I swear some engineer worked overtime just to make them suck that bad.

The hole up top is where the power and coax cable for a CB radio is. (Red circle)
You could mount something else in it, you will have to pull all new wire. That will take a lot of work, pulling almost the entire overhead unit, plus one side of the windshield plastic and the right side of the”dash” assembly. That’s if you want to use the factory wire for speakers and antenna. Pulling new wire, your going to take apart the cabinets and wall panels.LoneRanger Thanks this. -
Is the CB antenna wired into the truck? or do i have to get a new one?
-
Look at your mirrors, you should see where they mount.
Not the best place, but works ok. Possible that the stock coax is bad, not uncommon for that. Not that hard to replace. Have to pull the bare cable then terminate the connector ends. A good shop can do it in a few hours.Last edited: Jul 27, 2018

We all the time had to glue a larger thick plastic cup cut off to correct hi to hold coff. cup in place?
-
After a roll of plastic clear tape is used up (you know the cheapest of pallet wrapping 2" wide stuff that one can be found on every warehouse receiving dock) I put in the cupholder it fits the hole perfect and cups fit the roll perfect.
Truckermania Thanks this. -
Yea alot of FLD drivers just buy a new roll of duct tape and put it on the floor to put drink cups into?
-
Idk i put empty rolls into the factory cupholders that has a drink fall backwards onto the floor when you grab a gear from the notch they carve out for reasons unkown.

find a plumber and get a piece of 3 or 4 inch white pvc around 2 1/2 in
long 'fits right in there. not sure of the diameter any more. i am thinking 3 inch. measure it.
