Funny I came across this thread. I was in a cool 379 a couple years ago, and recently went and picked one out ('05 w/ a CAT motor) to drive for a new flatbed gig. Nice trucks, hold up really well. We had to put a new differential in the previous one at 1.5 million because it had been used for heavy haul hopper bottom doubles for a long while. That thing was a really nice truck to haul with. Kind of helps you keep the clutter out too with that smaller sleeper.

Sitting still is the best way for that truck to operate.

The trucks are sharp (refrigerators in them, etc). They run mostly the 389's but they are getting more 579's and even a few automatics as they expand and grow. They are trying to give options for those who like their running lanes/pay but may not want a hood.

I’ll drive anything with wheels. Some trucks i require the windows to be tinted tho. (Don’t wana be caught driving it). But give me a clean well maintained truck with a hood any day over a p.o.s. plastic truck!!!

I don’t why the trolls jump all over a guy for asking a question. There are company’s running hoods that maintain their trucks well, & pay their guys well.

Whom ever gave so many people on this forum that just ‘cuz a guy drive a truck with a hood means he doesn’t make any money is a absolute fool!

This makes me think of the slobs who have their trash piled up to the passenger side window sill, & the only clean spot on the outside of their truck is where their leg rubs the fairing as climb into the cab. Yea that guy who’s favorite saying is “she’s dirty ‘cuz she works”. When i read these reply’s & that’s all i can think of. I laugh my butt off thinking of y’all in all your flip flop wearing WalMart shopping glory. Omg.

So yeah Op go ahead have some pride and don’t let people below you pull you down:)

The phrase "beggars can't be choosers" comes to mind. OP had an entitled attitude from the start, and you can't expect forums to respond well to it.

For me it was primarily the attitude in the very title that was pretty obvious. Implying that anybody who doesn't drive a hood is a steering wheel holder fake truck driver. It didn't get better from there.
