has anyone used the DieselBoss laptop stand? a quick search on msn using "DieselBoss Laptop Stand" and you'll see they have a nifty setup with teloscoping levels and the whole business. was hoping somebody on here might have already tried it and tell me if it's alright before I go spending over 200 bones.

Yes, many people have the Ram Mount from DieselBoss including me. Good equipment and overall experience.

I also have the laptop mount from Dieselboss. I have had it about a year, and cant imagine anything else. It rotates around so you can use it in the sleeper area, and accomodates most laptops.

    hunts2much and Dieselboss Thank this.

I read somewhere that a driver had built his own laptop stand with a house "dish" TV mount. Has anyone ever heard of that? It sounds pretty ingenious to me!

I've been thinking of getting a Ram Mount. I drive an '07 Freightliner and was wondering which base I would need to attach it. Also, if anyone has any pictures of their setup they could post I would love to see it.

    Thanks.

Minstrel, get the one that says "slides under seat", its $225. All you have to do is loosen the 4 bolts that hold the passenger seat down, slide the Ram Mount under the seat and position it where you want it, then tightent the bolts, and your done.

I just installed a laptop mount I bought off ebay for around $45. It has a plexiglass laptop holder and the attaching hardware is 1/2 inch threaded pipe that you can buy at any hardware store. Search truck laptop mount on ebay and you will see the product. They sell these to police departments nationwide. All over this companies material it says "original $30.00 laptop mount."

I attached mine to the seat bolt and left the top and one of the 90 degree elbows a little loose. I can swivel mine from directly over the pasenger seat to the space between the seats closer to me. The computer can also be angled back towards the sleeper allowing me to watch videos from the bunk at night. I will post a picture next week when I get back in the truck.

That's sounds like the same one I have been using for the past 4 plus years. I think the name of the company is mobilelaptopmounts. It also has a quick disconnect near the bottom where it bolts into the seat bolt. Thus, anytime I put my truck in the shop, I simply use the quick disconnect to get it out of their way. I couldn't see myself spending $200 or more for some of those laptop stands they sell. The price some of these people are asking for those things is utterly absurd. Anyway, my entire set up, my laptop stand, Streets & Trips, and the Truck Stops Plus add-on template cost me altogether less than $120 and I couldn't be more happy or satisfied.

I almost paid the $11 they wanted for the quick disconnect. I decided to see what they had at the hardware store. Got one at Lowes for $2.98. If I had to buy it again I would just buy the plexiglass top and get the rest at the hardware store.
