New Albany, huh? Isn't that just a stone's throw from your mother's area? Maybe 30 miles? Sounds like you/he didn't have a chance to see each other. That's too bad.

I posted a suggestion about your freezing water, but then deleted it as now I'm assuming the water is freezing from the tank to the shower head/faucet. And my suggestion didn't address that. I have a 35' 5th wheel so I have some experience on this freezing thing. The only way you can prevent it, is to add RV Antifreeze to your fresh water, then run that through the lines. You can do it, but it's sure a PITA to deal with that stuff taking a shower. I've done it, no fun, non-toxic or not. But you're in luck, after tonight, I think its supposed to warm up considerably. I think tonight's supposed to be colder than last night.

BTW, I live in the Montgomery, AL area. About 3 hours south of where you're at.

 

Google irv2. I bet there are lots of good ways to combat your lines freezing.

In extreme cold temps, anyone can idle and all they got to do is tell dispatcher they are idling for safety reasons, theirs and the trk. That will sufice. Co. doesn't want to go to court over someone's death or healthy problems due to unsafe conditions in the trk. I have been idling now (not much for me cause I am fine with my clothes and sleeping bags) but for the trk. Doesn't want it to freeze up on me again. And I told dispatcher why I am doing it. He thanked me for keeping him posted. Good communication is key. I got a cold (getting better now) because of cold outside the trk while doing drop and hook in Wisconsin, in the snow.... I idle trk while I cook my food, and whenever I need. But don't need to idle while I sleep because my sleeping bags are very warm. But will be idling now to keep trk working. That's all. I hope MCR comes back. I would even like to meet him some time.... Just want to add that I know at least one driver in the co. that has asthma (not sure how to spell) and has to idle constantly for that reason somehow. And he does. And the co. doesn't mess up with him. Brkdown told me to idle when temp drops to freezing and that's what I will be doing. But will be communicating with dispatcher and it will be fine. You can bet on it.

 

Well rocks I am glad that you clarified that.....It's good that you can communicate with with your DM. I had issues with that.....you have to take care of #1, and that is you.....at any company....one day we will rise as men and women in this Industry and challenge the forces that rule our lives....and show them that we are not only their employees, but humans that demand better pay and working standards...

Don't worry about venting, we all need to do this from time to time. You have gained many friends on this board. We all have big shoulders to share.

Hi again Mrs RC. How's it goin? I have a question.....anyone please feel free to answer. Is it common for Qualcom to not work in a "dead zone" so therefore drivers can lose a good run say from Cali to Georgia? My husband is a newbie to Covenant so he dosen't know how much he can jump in to save them from losing a good run. He said his trainer had to keep driving around to find an area where qualcom would work. It never happened so their dispatcher gave the run to someone else. I also would like to know if I can say who their dispatcher is over this forum. Wondering if anyone else knows him
