In my limited experience with Cedar Springs it seemed half the battle was making sure to get there while the midnight shift was still working, they seemed way easier to deal with.

Although I do not recommend making your 1st trip there in the dead of night as I did, wondering where the hell am I because this sure doesn't seem/feel like I should be on these roads.

As stated by @Gremlin304 and others, it was a trip the 1st time.

You can smoke, just technically not while you’re placarded.

Shhhhh..... I do it anyway though. :)

I'd do that but I don't want to risk getting reported. There's always some a-hole driver out there with an axe to grind and I have a perpetual black cloud following me. And I've learned recently that there is a stigma among many drivers about Landstar guys. Not sure why, and don't care. Haters gonna hate. I just try to keep to myself and never give anyone a reason to complain.

I think it's because Landstar is the "mega" among companies that are 100% owner-operator. Everybody likes to hate the big dog. Whatever. That kind of behavior is for children.

Agreed. I never whined about any Mega driver. Unless, of course, I'm stuck behind a guy in a 62 mph truck. And I have to remind myself in those moments that it may not be his fault, might just be a company-wide standard. Other than that, truckers are truckers. Never was a guy to snitch, either. Saw a Millis truck here yesterday where I'm doing my 34. There's only one reason to be here, and it ain't the fuel. That dude is braver than me. I never woulda done that in my Millis truck, I woulda just parked across the street and walked. But, I'm a wuss like that. And admittedly paranoid. I salute his moxie.

You guys ever catch yourself picking up words and phrases from people without really realizing it until you've been doing it for awhile?

Lately I've caught myself suffixing sentences with "...which is a good thing." Which anybody who got their training in Trenton should recognize as a Bill-ism.

Can't say that I remember that, and I feel like I probably should. But, I can use it in a sentence. I got screwed on a truck repair today, but my load will be on time tomorrow, which is a good thing :biggrin_2559:
