As a gas hauler, I always take my break while while I unload gas at stations. Generally I’m within a 100 miles of my home so i don’t think breaks are technically required for me, but my company still expects us to. My boss has had been on my case from October til about a month ago about my breaks, being I would show 30 minutes of off duty time and like 2 or 3 minutes of on duty time every day for my break while unloading
Then we got audited about a month ago. I was one of the drivers they examined. The auditor apparently agreed with my point of view rather than my bosses, as the auditor did not write me for any violations.
My boss has not been on my case sinceGoldDot40, Dave_in_AZ, bottomdumpin and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't even have a 8 hour count down clock on my eld anymore. Most guys that pull big stuff at my company were given the option to turn that clock off or on.Trucker61016 Thanks this.

I use the 30 minute break to shower during the day. Usually no lines and is a productive use of the 30 minutes.
