I understand, and I also understand you dont use firestick which is prone to breaking at the top of the threads. There is nothing wrong with the right spring. -

Did they tell you what the #'s...I dont or would never just take their word for it..If a shop can screw up a tune cause they dont know what they are doin, same with tuneing of your antenna..rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Dont know about firestick but i broke a brack before but not my skip shooter...I also have a BIG piece of pvc pipe on it and was just to much strain on the antenna bracket.....Ruined my 1st skip shooter after it hit the pavement at 65 mph..lol

The z setting is a fancy different way of finding out the same and the r(should be 50 ohms, give or take a cpl and the x(should be 0,give or take a cpl #'s.)..Grab an ohm meter and test different parts of your mount for resistance...Was also told to chk coax to for ahorts and resistance but somethin new was to unhook coax from radio and ant..Use + prob into + side of power supple and lay the - probe on coax..Not sure what that purpose is but im assumeing it will pick up moise thats not supposed to be there..I gotta bone up on that this week..
In my new cascadia im hearing a noise that im thinkin is a fridge.. -
If that’s a Danny Herman truck, and that guy goes by Crazy D, I hear him on channel 28 talking skip before. I have even talked to him probably about 900 miles away, he gets out good.

On 1500 watts he should but would be better if the antenna was outta there..
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Dayrl stillwell..As i said with 1500 watts he should get out good..Skip dont count cause thats 100% conditions...Can do same thing on a 100 watts with skip..
-
Maybe on some channels, but on 100 watts on 28 it would be very difficult. I have friends that drive all over the country that hear him when he is talking. I agree he needs to move the antenna, but he blows smoke even with big stations on the channel.
