I only ever heard the song- figured it was one of those made up things so when you go there n ask for it they know "yuh ain't from round her"

 

Time to do a real good cleaning on the Gristmill..... might grind up some cornmeal at the show.

 

Yes Sir.... I remember well Poke, Creasey greens, and sometimes milkweed was tossed in. Use to be wild grapes folks called opossum grapes round here, made real good jelly, little tart but good!

Ever had Quince honey? Looked about like a apple. Aunt Winnie made jelly out of them tasted like honey. I miss some of the stuff I had growing up. This old Gristmill had a 4 cyl LeRoi engine turning it when I grew up, always had our own cornmeal and flour. I sure miss a lot of it... I'll quit babbling now lol .

 

Welp... the Famous Dave’s here has a real limited menu and doesn’t have my ribeye that I like...

Guess we will try a Memphis styled pork sandwich.

 

They got quince jelly over here. Think I have some in the fridge. I buy all kinds church sale goodies- I really ain't a jelly kinda fella tho lol

 

No one showed up so, I’ll have some leftovers for this week for sure.
