Well I took the plunge...got an SFI truck and have been on the road for a few weeks now.
I can now answer my previous questions from my limited experience, in case anyone is interested.
1) GB to SLC to get my stuff wouldn't have worked well. I took Opus's advice and shipped my junk. It cost me over $600 to ship, but it would likely have cost a lot more to try driving there, plus I'd have had a $150/month storage unit bill until I made it.
2) Michigan - getting anywhere/everywhere there has been simple...I've seen several relatives and friends there, all while under decent loads.
3) Colorado - forget about it.
4) Baltimore, Maryland area - has been difficult. I think I'll get there from time to time but it won't likley be easy to plan on it. Getting to/through Hagerstown is easy but further east isn't. I had one delivery in Curtis Bay south of Balto (hope to not go to that location again) but my next trip didn't let me hang around.
5) Pittsburgh - easy....have driven through there a lot. Found a closed down Gander Mountain right off the 'pike with a giant parking lot and no one in it. (Just have to run over a few people to get in and out of it....tight little corner)
6) Florida - forget it.
