I'm scheduled to catch the Greyhound tomorrow to Joplin, MO for CDL training with CFI. I lost focus for a few seconds tonight and ended up sliding into the back of another car. No injuries, no damage to the other vehicle, but my car had about 2K worth of damage. The police did not take a report or issue any citations, we just exchanged information. I had pre-hires with CFI and Schneider before all of this. I have no other accidents, one speeding ticket (7 mph over) that's almost 3 years old. How does this affect me CFI? Will it cause me to have to look at lower tier companies like CRST or CR England?

I'd catch the Greyhound and go for it and wouldn't mention the accident. If you didn't report it to your insurance company CFI probably won't find out. If they do find out after you complete the school and have the cdl in your pocket and they fire you then, no big deal, plenty of other companies will be glad to take you on board.
A rear end collision is a big deal to trucking companies, even if it is in your POV, and more so to their insurance companies.

As to lower tier companies.....they all are. Only Woolly Rhino Transportation is the top tier.
