When you're parked and idling and you get up and knock the shifter into gear. Im always so careful and afraid i might bump it into gear and jolt the truck and fling myself. Or is it paranoia?
Anyone else have this fear?

Yes, it's a paranoia. You'd have to time the push just right in order to get it in gear without a clutch.
I've been driving for 18 years, never happened to me, never worried about it happening.Last edited: Aug 2, 2018

Go get an automatic. You won't have to worry about the gear shift.

My automatic only shifts into gear if I'm pressing the brake pedal. And my truck has optimized idle, so I just go to bed and turn on my bunk AC.
